Tally Master Ltd ("we", "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of anyone who uses this website. This policy explains what personal information we collect through tallymaster.co.uk, why we collect it, and what we do with it.

It applies to information you give us through this website. It does not cover information collected in the course of a client engagement, which is governed by the terms of that engagement.

1. Who we are

2. Information we collect

The only personal information this website collects is what you choose to enter into an enquiry form. Depending on the form, that is:

Your name
Your email address
Your phone number
The type of business you run, if you tell us
The service you are enquiring about
Anything you write in the message field
Your preferred contact method and time, on the consultation form

We also process the IP address of the request when a form is submitted. This is used only to limit how many submissions can be made from one source in a short period, which protects the form from automated abuse. It is held in memory for a matter of minutes and is not stored or linked to your enquiry.

The free calculators on this website run entirely in your browser. Figures you enter into them are never sent to us or to anyone else.

3. Why we collect it and our lawful basis

We use the information you submit for one purpose: to respond to your enquiry and, where relevant, to discuss providing services to you.

Our lawful basis under the UK GDPR is that processing is necessary to take steps at your request prior to entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us. Where you tick the consent box on a form, we also rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by contacting us.

We do not use enquiry information for marketing, and we do not add you to a mailing list.

4. How your information is handled

Enquiries submitted through this website are sent to us by email. They are not stored in a database on this website and are not written to the website server beyond the moment of sending.

The email is transmitted through our email provider, which processes it in order to deliver it. The connection between your browser and this website is encrypted using TLS.

The name of the email provider used to deliver enquiries, the hosting provider for the website, and confirmation of where each stores data. Required to describe international transfers accurately.

5. How long we keep it

Enquiry emails are kept for as long as needed to respond to you and, where the enquiry leads to an engagement, for as long as our records for that engagement are retained. Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement are deleted once they are no longer needed.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

This website sets no cookies of its own. Your cookie preference is stored in your browser using local storage so that we do not ask you again on every page; that value never leaves your device.

Analytics are only loaded if you accept them in the cookie banner. If you decline, or ignore the banner, no analytics script is loaded and no analytics cookies are set. You can change your choice at any time using the cookie settings link in the footer.

7. Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you have the right to:

Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete
Ask us to delete information where there is no good reason for us to keep it
